Planning a wedding guest list

Planning a wedding guest list

3rd October 2015

Although seeming like a very small part of the wedding organisations the guest list is notoriously one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning.

With Asian weddings being such large celebrations it is not unheard of that you do not actually know many of the present on your day. We suggest that you define your guest list as early as possible, giving way to an easier and hassle-free wedding planning process.

The number of guests impacts every single part of your wedding. From food and seating plans to wedding invitations and favours, you must sit down and really think about who you are going to invite.

Although Asian/Indian weddings are notorious for being large affairs you do not have to follow suit, but simply invite those in which you want to see as you wed your partner.

Traditionally the bride and groom will meet with both sets of parents and make a draft of the first guest list, deciding on the individuals that must show face.

Asian weddings are about the joining of two families so expect to see some distant family members and long lost family friends.

Being a celebration for everyone your wedding is just as much about your guests as it is about you so think very carefully before sending out your invites.
